Sync Multiple Contact folders

Hello,

I have my N70 for three days now. Like the phone very much. I only have one question.... I Use outlook 2003 and have multiple contact folders (Friends, Buisness, family, and so on). I managed to sync with my Phone through bluetooth. All the folders are joined in the phone. This I don't find a problem. But when I sync again, all the contacts are placed in 1 folder on the PC. So i have double contacts.

Does anyone know how to solve this or is there software that is able to sync multiple folders of contacts?

Thank you in advance

Gopher

Unfortunately, this is one of the drawbacks of the phone (the phone's Contacts does not know about Outlook folders, nor remember which folder the contact came from & PC Suite isn't helping here, either).

You can in Outlook use categories instead of folders (won't help on the phone, though, but it gives you almost similar grouping capabilities in Outlook as if you used different folders).

Thanks for your reaction :icon14: . I guess i'll have to keep track of it manually then.
Let's hope future updates makes it possible.

Hi,

after using PC Suite for synchronization of my contacts, calendars and notes, I have beeb encountering problems with my GPRS connection saying web-time out and cannot send/receive MMS. upon purchase of my N70 two days, it works well both GPRS and MMS. what seems to be the problem of my phone? can someone here provide me a fix? appreciate the help.

thanks,

komz

The "web time out" u got, always after sync? AFAIK, GPRS/MMS problem it's because of the network problem. Wait 4 a while, then try it again. How about the size (file MMS)? Try to contact ur network operator maybe?

hi rulirahm,

thanks for your response.

i managed to get the fix. its because of the symantec virus scan software that was embeded on the phone upon purchased. i installed it and when i configured the firewall protection level to high, that's causing the web time out so neither GPRS nor MMS are not accessible because of this. when i turned the level to low then i can already access both.

is this a phone or software (symantec) problem?

cheers,

komz

With my experience, it's because of Symantec. I ever use it too. When I set the firewall to high, not just the 'web' can't connect, but also BT maybe 😊. Try to set it 'Medium', maybe will allow u to use GPRS (web) if I'm mot mistaken.
