I got two dongles from Dabs:

http://www.dabs.com/products/prod-search.asp?action=search&stab=ref&ob=manufacturer&cs=Home

28.19 inc VAT They sell them very quickly. So, grab them while they are in stock.

The dongle works fine with the 7650, plus you can use an assortment of drivers. Either the ones that are shipped (XTNDConnect Blue Manager), or the Widcomm stack (which I use). Plus, it is also compatible with microsofts XP drivers (although you can't connect to the 7650 with them)

Excellent value for money.

I'm not sure, that integrated BT is something super. That isn't integrated transceiver, at MB are just connectors and you need to buy BT device which you must plug to this connectors. This device cost as much as USB key and you can't use it as easy as key. So I think that USB key is better.

I have the same, do you find the Blue manager (V2) very stable? I keep getting GPF's in XCBLUMGR. I am on Win98 (V2) and have tried on 2 different PC's (the second a clean install).

Have you noticed that if you move the phone out of range and then come back that the Blue manager finds the phone but Nokia Connection manager doesn't? I usually have to click the com port tick off then on again.

Please let me know if you find the same as all I want is the phone to sync to Outlook everytime it is within range and not spend ages rebooting the PC and playing with it!!!!!!!!!!

I've spoken to Nokia and they say it is a Blue Manager (V2) problem and you guessed it, I've mailed the bluemanager people and they say it is Nokia PC Suite (V1.1.0). I reckon Blue manager!

Cheers

The same thing happens for me with the Widcomm stack. To reconnect the phone I have to open up the mRouter, and uncheck, then recheck a com port. Usually (though not always) a different one to the one that is used for the connection.

What would be better would be a way to connect the phone to the PC, rather than the other way around....

Bluemanager 2 doesn't seem that stable ... under win2k it prevented pc shutting down correctly. Using pc suite no problem although i have to check and uncheck the com port in the nokia manager when the phone has been out of range also.... haven't tried syncing to outlook - let me know how you get on.....

At last someone else is having similar problems with Bluemanager V2! I suspect that they still wont admit to there being a problem!

I can sync with Outlook (2000) fine when I can get it all hooked up! It syncs contacts, Calendar! & tasks, but notes wont sync, no option!!!!

Cheers

i shall e-mail them and let you know their response.... every time i shut down win 2k i get a btusrbdg not responding dialog box...

Following on from my previous post...

I purchased a USB Dongle - Racewood (BTD-2403) which uses Bluemanager (V2) - from eBay and have just received a mail from the supplier saying that there is definatley a problem with them or the software. I'll update when I hear more!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone else finding problems?

Cheers

I just got Racewood with Bluemanger 1.8 , Nokia Suite or Mrouter doenst seem to detect my phone. .. didnt think BlueTooth was gonna be so fiddley ,, have spent hours on the web searching to get it to work 😞

i have that dlink usb adaptor in ur link.

i highly recommend it, it's really small (the same size as a usb plug) and everything works for me, including pc suit for windows xp.

😮ops: OK Before you read this I'm sorry!!!!!!! 😮ops: I've put off post this for too long!

But......I am still having problems with Bluemanager V2 and Nokia PC Suite 1.1.0!!!!!!!

Getting GPF's etc. and the rest of the problems posted previously.

I have tried a dongle from Dabs.com ( wavelinker) and previously one from Racewood. I have installed Win 98SE, any number of times, on different PC's (clean basic installs with different copies on 98se) and still getting GPF's in XCBLUMGR. My last idea is to download the lasted updates for Win98se, from microsoft, in the insane hope it may help...so I may be gone for some time!

Please can some one put me straight, as if I do not get it working soon I'm going back to my Nokia 5.1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(PS please don't suggest moving to win2000 etc)

Cheers

*eagerly awaiting dlink bt-usb adapter arriving next week* had major probs with IR so this should be a whole lot better 😊 - cost approx US$50 or UKP$33

Try the WIDCOMM SOFTWARE instead of the BLUE!

Before you say it I have spent a couple of hours searching through the forum, looking for the latest Widcomm software to download. I have found this site

http://www.tecomproduct.com/asp/support.asp?Navi=SoftwareDownload and download BTW12216.zip

but only 2.5Mb (it says it is 16Mb) downloads and then the file wont unpack.

Please, can some one suggest another location/file? and what the latest version is.

Thanks in advance
