Please help - N70 Wallpaper Scaling?

5 replies · 1,361 views · Started 14 March 2006

Hi all,
I've just got an N70 on the Orange network and seem to have a problem.

I take a picture and save it in my gallery, I view it in my gallery and it looks fine but when I set the image to be the wallpaper it doesn't look right on the home screen as it's zoomed in and slightly blurred.

Now I think (or hope) it's down to Orange's crappy home screen layout but I never had this problem with my Orange 7610 previously. If anyone can guide me in the right direction I'd appeciate it very much as it's driving me mad.

By the way the software version is: 3.0546.2.3 18-11-05 RM-84.

Many thanks

It is indeed the Orange Homescreen responsible. Love it or loathe it, the only way to get rid of it is to have your phone flashed with the latest generic firmware. It seems the most popular places for this to be done are Nokia Service Centre's and CPW stores. Strictly speaking it should be free, but I've heard of charges up to £20.

Thanks Airwalker, I thought as much. I have a Nokia Service Centre a few miles away I've used before so I think I need a trip up there to get it reflashed. I can't understand why some networks mess about with the OS. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!

Thanks again :icon14:

Zensis photorite and resco viewer gets rid of the blurryness after setting an image as wallpaper!
this used to happen with the 6630 as well!

Thanks mr g, think I'll go with Zensis Photorite. How do I install/download it and where do I put it in my phone? I've never put any new apps on my phone before so want to ensure I do it correctly.

Many thanks
