Nokia PC Suite Program

I am trying to use Nokia PC Suite Program to download contact, etc. from my Nokia N Gage QD. I am using Windows XP with Service Pack 2. I am not able to connect the Nokia N Gage Qd with Nokia PC Suite Program. The connect icon for Nokia PC Suite Program in the tool bar does not light up. I called Nokia technical support and I think that they told me that I can not use the Nokia PC Suite Program with Windows XP with Service Pack 2. I can only use it with Service Pack 1. Do you know where I may get a patch to allow me to use Nokia PC Suite Program with Windows XP with Service Pack 2? I really would like to keep Windows XP with Service Pack 2 because I have a lot of programs that use Windows XP with Service Pack 2. Thanks.

Are you sure you are using PC Suite for NGage(NGage has its own PC Suite, Ngage does not work for example with the Nokia PC Suite 6.7, which is the "generic" PC suite for Nokia phones. Ngage is one of the expections to the rule, it does not work with it.

Hi Everyone,

I'm surprised to hear that NGage QD PC Suite does not work with XP SP2. I've struggling for 2 months on my own after I gave up with Nokia servise center and their online tech support.

My problem is simple: Windows XP SP2, NGage QD connects with BT (paired) and the BT icon and Mrouter icon are both green in the system tray (COM ports 4 & 5 configured on my system) and yet when run PC Suite I olny get "This is the first time you have used PC Suite, Please attache your N-gage QD to the PC ....." and when I click on OK nothing happens.

Of course, and perhaps like many others, I have re-installed the suite several times and the last without SDK, based on some forums.

If anyone has the resolution for this problem, please let me know with apprecation. If the problem is incompatibility with XP SP2, again please I'd like to know with a reference, if possible.

Many thanks

I was just coming to the forum for a similar problem with my QD. I have used it for a long time with my PC and its PC Suite. I added my 9290 PC Suite and they still both worked fine. I have now started using my QD more and am trying to syncronize with my PC and it tells me during the Bluetooth search--already connected but the little plugs are not together and it is just not connected. It worked ok the other day and haven't got it to connect ever since. When it was connected I would get a "your device disconnected" but my QD was still connected at the time, which I figured it was referring to my 9290. They have coexisted before--am I missing something here please.

Thanks,
Bob

Further to my frustrating experience, I decided to install and test the N-Gage PC Suite on my new Vaio Notebook (XP Pro SP2 & built-in Bluetoorh). I have not been able to establish the serial port connection between the phone and the laptop yet (using Bluetooth Utility). I will search for a setup procedure and try. I will post my results here.
