Some questions about nokia 3230

hello fellas,
i just bought nokia 3230, it;s my first Symbian phone.
so i would like to ask some questions...
1) can i somehow delete 'Inbox' 'calendar' & 'notes' from 'GO TO'?
2) how can i assing my installed programs to programable buttons?
in the options there are in list only standart aplications.. maybe there is some application that can do it?
3) when i start the phone i have only 8.5Mb RAM memory available
it is a bit more than a half of all RAM memory... no applications running in background. is it okay?
4) i use Power MP3 to listen to my mp3 songs.. when i played with balance slider it appeared that all my mp3's are played in 'mono' mode... although
when i choose 'song info' there is shown that it is stereo...

thanks in advace 😎

oh, one more question....
when i assign hotkeys
assigned keys does not work in other applicatnios at all....
what is wrong with that?

1. No, u can't. Just try it and u'll know 😉
2. What do u mean by programable button? By pressing a numeric key on keypad or navigation key left/right/up/down?
3. N3230 running with poor RAM if I'm not mistaken. Try to free up more memory by some of 3rd app.
4. N3230 does has 'mono' of sound output. I think it's just the info 😊
5. What application? Can u be litle bit more precise?

2. i mean those buttons which are shown on the left and right at the bottom of the screen. can i assign there one of my installed apps?

4. i assign hotkeys with 'SysMan', ver: 1.01. and i have the same when i assing hotkey for the 'power dictaphone'. assigned key doenst work in any other symbian application. although it works in java apps & phone in common. so it's weird...

1. I'm not with MMC right now but some of installed app on my phone memory (Nokia 6630), I can see it on the list 😊
2. Do u have 'LockMe app installed?

1. hmm.. so maybe N3230 does not support assigning custom applications to these buttons... :bawling: . i juzt though maybe there is a special assigning app. 😊 or maybe it can be done by editing some file? 😊

2. no i dont have 'lockme' installed.. what is it for? for automatic keypad locking?

To add applications to the GO TO soft button you will need to install an application like APPMAN The following is how it can be used to add icons:

Under the Installed Applications tab (fully right) you can scroll up and down to find the app you want click OPTIONS>ADD TO FAVOUTITES (this is NOT a spelling mistake on my part, its how the program IS, this is also the same as the GO TO on newer 7.0 symbian 60 devices, older had a Favourites)

You can now add ALL the required programs you want to this one GO TO soft key, as you add them they will all go to the very end. You can exit AppMan, go into GO TO and rearrange the icons to however you want them.

I hardley use the original menu system since i'v done this as its 10 times faster at loading any application and you can get 25 icons on screen at a time, only down side it not all themes work well with the goto, so work out a theme you like with it.

If you need to have an auto keylock, personally i found many do not work that would on an older device, however i prefer EXTENDED PROFILE PRO, this works very very well as well as giving many additional device setup control for different profiles.

Duke.

PS My soft buttons are now just GO TO on left and MESSAGES on right, the most important app i need is messages and everything else is on the GO TO. The soft buttons are configured in SETTINGS>PHONE>STANDBY MODE and set left and right as per your own needs.

where can i get "APPMAN" for my 3230?
i try to add installed programs to "go to" but cant...can anybody help me?
