Hi all, im newbie here,

Everytime i turn on my phone i get a message "Phone start-up failed. Please contact the retailer." :icon4:
I even sent the phone to nokia repair services and they returned it to me with a letter saying phone was repaired, but the phone is not.

I Need help turning on the phone and gettting started with this.

I even formatted the phone using the three keys *, green key , and 3. Format didnt even help.

Can someone share their knowledge to help this newbie here.

Thank you in advance. 😊

"-Delete file 'Firstboot.dat' (C:\System\Bootdata\Firstboot.dat) then restart ur phone."

How do i delete firstboot.dat file if my phone doesnt even get out of the screen of "phone start-up failed please contact the retailer" at start-up. and how do i run fexplorer?

i know this is a dum question but, should i connect the phone with my pc and then install fexplorer on my pc or vise versa? please exp in detail.

thanks

U're wrong about the "hard format". It's not the "*, green key , and 3" but

"Green Dial" + "*" + "3" 😉

Fomat phone:

The good thing is that the newest phone has a three key start-up trick and users can solve almost any problem without necessity for flashing... OS 6 phones don’t support but up format trick Sad It doesn’t work on older phones, it only works on newer phones, os 7 and higher...(Nokia 6600 & after).
And it works on 6680.

Just try below trick:

1. Make sure you have at least 3/4 charge of battery power left.
2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card.
3. Switch-off your phone.
4. Press and hold 3 keys; Green dial key, * Star key, no. 3 key on keypad and then press the power on/off to swtich on the 6600 phone.
Remember, do not let go the 3 press and hold keys until you see a formatting word screen show!
5. After a few minutes when the Full phone formatting completed, your 6600 will back to original system and factory settting.

However if u have some hardware problem there is no trick which can help u, nearest SC is the only solution in that case...

Wait, formating screen available only N6600. What do u mean by did not work? Did ur contacts empty/deleted?

Hold the keys (green+*+3) simultaneously. While holding, pres the turn ON button and don't let go the holded key untill phone ask u to enter new date/time.

If not working too, I think only NSC can solve ur problem. I've read a newspaper. Something like ur phone IC.

Does the three-button startup actually work on the 7610? I didn't think that it does.

Have you tried starting in safe mode? You can look up more details on a forum search, but basically start the phone while holding the pencil until it is finished booting up. This starts the phone without extra processes running.

Also, try turning on the phone without the memory card inserted, in case something on there is causing the problem.

I've never had this issue with my 7610, but I did once fix my 3650 (which would not start up beyond a white screen, then die) with the above two tips.

If you can get it to boot, then you might consider reformatting the phone/and or memory card. For the phone, at the standby screen, press *#7370#. Default lock code is 12345.

Let us know if this helps.
