well, I have this phone for less then a week, and already it froze about 10 times in varios situations, and self restarted a couple of times. But still I don`t mind, I worked it hard anyways, but now, I hit a dead-end
I took a photo in the morning, while the phone was in silent profile, and it froze, the only way I could restart it was by removing the battery and put it in again
the result is that now I have an incomplete photo on my memory card, now, each time I access the images directory on the memory card, the phone freezes. I tried accessing it via Gallery, File manager, and also through IRDA, in all three cases, the phone freezes and I have to reboot by removing the battery
even more now the phone freezes after making a picture
my only ideea right now is to format the memory card (I really dont wanna do that), so if u have any other ideas pls tell. Also, I`ve heared that the 3230 can`t format any other memory cards than the 32 mb one supplied by nokia, so if u think that formatting the card is the only solution, pls tell me how (and dont tell me to buy a card reader because I don`t have the money)

-It's a hard job if u don't have a card reader. BTW, bluetooth device is good too. Card reader is very usefull to transfer large files to MMC.
-U can try vDisk (require BT) to copy ur MMC to PC.
-If u have a PC (with USB connection), use a card reader. Copy all of ur MMC data to PC via card reader then u can try to format ur MMC
-Try to upgrade ur phone's firmware. Go to the nearest NSC (Nokia Service Centre).

k, I thought to myself, screw the stuff I had on the memory card, let`s format the darn thing, but of course, the phone cannot format it, grrr I wish I could smash it against a wall or smthing, but I`m still trying to be rational
let`s see:
1. I cannot erase, copy, move, any files on the card
-I tried to erase that dmgd file from the phone, and it gives me astrange message in romanian (btw I`m from Romania), which transleted sounds smthing like: "If u don`t try again, the data will be lost" (I don`t know what the heck I should try again, and if I would lose that "data", I would be more than happier, but I can only say yes to the message, and that`s that, nothing happenns.
-I tried to erase it through my computer via an IRDA connection, and nokia pc suite, it shows the file beeing erased, but the process doesn`t advance, and if I look on the phone the same idiotic message appears: "If u don`t try again, the data will be lost"
2.I cannot format the memory card (a 512MB card RS-MMC from sandisk), from the phone menu, it starts formatting, but the progress bar doesn`t show any progress, and the process is closed in about 2 seconds.
-I don`t have the money to buy a card reader or a bluetooth connector, I have an IRDA connector, pls give me a solution via this connection mode, or tell me a program which I can use from the computer to format the card via the IRDA connection
-also, I`ve heared that once hard formatted a memory card is not recognized by this phone, so I guess I should do a soft format

U've a corrupted MMC. If don't have a card reader, there's another way but all of the data in MMC will be lost. Try to format ur MMC using N9210 or digital camera. If u've a card reader, use search with key "Corrupted MMC fix" by me.
