n80's shutter sound

Hi all,
I read somewhere that the n80 has a shutter sound that cannot be disabled. Will turning the alert sound work? Seems to work with the n70. I seriously dislike the shutter sound.

Crappinni

the only way to disable the shutter sound is to select "silent mode", there is no option to turn it off any other way (as far as I have tested it).

But in Silent mode, there is no shutter sound.

Hope this helps.

You can use a file manager and delete the shutter sound, but i don't know if that will work...

Typically the shutter sound is stored in the phone's ROM and therefore cannot be deleted.

S.

you can disable the camera shutter sound by de-activating keypad tones in your selected profile. will mean though that when u press a key = no sound but will acheive no shutter as you wanted !

well in the Internet Edition, when you select the 4th option on camera settings on shutter sound thee is no sound. think the latest firmware updated it. the silent mode option does not work on mine, and turning off the warning tone does not either.

Yeah, its crap yopu have to turn off keypad tones, i dont want keypad tones but want shutter town.

No Boss, In N80 sound files are saved in ROM, cannot be deleted or renamed. I tried deleting in C drive too, but did not work.

I've got to say I'm with James on this. I, and probably everyone else around me, can do without the constant beep beep beep of the keypad tones but I would like the shutter sound. I find it comforting
