new s60 browser on symbian 8.x device?

as far as i know the new browser from the upcoming phones is opensource. is it possible to see this browser one day on older symbian 8.x devices?

Checkout S60. Btw, does the Nokia 6630 use Netfront for its default web browser (built in)?

yes i know about netfront and the interal browser. but i am just interested in this new one and i just want to know, how difficult a port to an older operating system would be.
there seems to be no possibilty like a simple recompileing for the old OS :frown:

The OSS part of the new browser is just the browser core (WebCore) and JavaScript engine (JavaScriptCore).

Many parts of it is not OSS at all.

You will not see a Symbian 8 or earlier version of it, unless someone recreates the rest around the OSS bits, or Nokia decides to do a release for older versions.
