Nokia has released a new firmware version for Nokia N90
Firmware 5.0607.7.3 will be available progressively in the next few days in the official Nokia Points and Nokia Service Points.
This release should improve the Nokia N90 performance as well as fixing known bugs and problems from previous versions.

perfect timing, my friend's n90 has some trouble in the gallery with pictures, it always freezes, and i just bought a jaf box so ill be updating his firmware 😃
I've just upgraded to v5.0609.2.0.1 (newer than the one mentioned in this post) and it works well so far. I'll update you with its behaviour, specially on the TomTom and PoIs issue.
edit: sorry it was for the N70 and not N90.

So there is v5 firmware available for the N70 aswel? Where did you get it done?
firmware for the n90 has nothing to do with firmware of the n70, all phones have different firmware

It will be released in the coming days to the mass market (I think that it is already official in some countries).

I'm a newbee at phones.
My Nokia N70 now has S60 3rd Edition installed using the nokia software updater.
I don't know it's version before i updated because i couldn't find the right 'tab' / page on my phone.
Anyway after update S60 3rd Edition (firmmware V 5.0638.3.0.1 18-09-06 RM-84 (this will show up after pressing *#0000# / the OS version via Instrumenten / Help / Uw apparaat gebruiken / apparaatinformatie)
This Symbian version should als run Tomtom 6 and the phone should autoinstall / autorun after putting back memorycard.
But it doesn't.............................
I still am trying.........
Any suggestions ?

firmmware V 5.0638.3.0.1 18-09-06 RM-84 for N70 is not 3rd edition symbian. it is still 2nd edition even with the update.
