Hi Everyone,
I just bought myself an N70 and decided to join this forum, which I find very useful . I came across a few threads that mention "branded and unbranded". What does it mean by branded and unbranded and is one better than the other? How can you tell whether it is branded?
Another thing is, how do I check my firmware. Cant seem to find it 😊
Branded means the service provider (voda, orange etc) has got hold of the phone and put all their rubbish on it.Unbranded (vanilla) is one direct from nokia.
hammer1, the color of the phone has nothing to do with if its branded or not, maybe it is where u live, but unbranded is just when it has the generic nokia software n70 comes in silver and vanilla unbranded
ornage is a network not colour of the phone

Did i say anything about colour :con?
not intentionally. you said orange & mafia.69 interpreted that as the colour of the phone not a network

not orange, i know its an operator, i was talking about vanilla and that is a color of the n70😉
Now I get it. 😊 At first I thought there is a black market version of the phones i.e like pirated movies, songs, etc... LOL
Another thing I just noticed is that, whenever I turn on my Jabra 250, it will ask for "Say a name". And then it will randomly select one of the contacts and call that person. Its very strange. So now, whenever I turn on my Jabra, I have to immediately cancel it. If not it will call anyone in my phone book.
Anybody experience this before?
Thanks for all the replies. :icon14:
