hi everyone, wondering if someone might be able to help please.
i have a 3230 that i have connected successfully to my XP laptop using the latest PCSuite. i can see the phone via the PC, see pictures i've taken, transfer files etc all via PCSuite no problems.
but when i want to use the phone as a modem to connect to my dial-up ISP, i can't get it to connect. i've tried two ways:
1. using PCSuite and clicking the "connect to the internet" icon. the connection screen comes up (i have configured the phone number etc for my ISP) but as soon as i press connect, PCSuite tries for about one or two seconds to connect and then just says that it couldn't open the connection.
2. i have set up the phone as a modem (over USB cable) in the Modems part of the XP control panel. i can query the phone/modem fine, it responds fine to the AT command, and ATH and so on, but every time i use ATDT ###... (i.e. when i ask it to dial a number) the nokia screen says "Dialing ###..." for one second and then just displays "Connection Error". It doesn't even really get as far as trying to talk to the modem on the other end, it quits almost immediately.
so basically i have everything working in terms of "PC to phone connectivity" except for the phone acting as a modem...
does anyone have any ideas?
thanks in advance
Mike
