ACS Publisher ID usage for DevCerts

5 replies · 1 views · Started 05 April 2006

Hello folks,

Here is a simple question: I have bought an ACS Publisher ID in order to
gain access to additional capabilities with a DevCert. I know that I can
register 20 IMEIs but at the moment I only have one IMEI to register, will I
be able to use the same ACS Publisher ID to request others DevCert for other
IMEIs.

Thanks in advance for clarification,

Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,
don't know if there is a limitation.
But at the moment I have already a few devcerts requested.
All with my ACS cert and same/different IMEIs.
Seems that's not a problem.

Thank you for the clarification.
Now I'm wondering if the limitation of 20 IMEIs is for one DevCerts or if it
is for one ACS Publisher ID?
In other words, can I create an unlimited number of DevCert with one ACS
Publisher ID on an unlimited number of IMEIs but with the sole restriction
of 20 IMEIs each time ?

I think at the moment you can (I've at least got several single-IMEI certs).

Since this would allow you to actually automate the whole process: just
get an IMEI from the user, fetch a new devcert with screen-scraping,
sign the package and send it to the user.

It can't last.

I think it is 20 IMEIs max. You can have all 20 in one DevCert or 20
DevCerts with 1 IMEI each. I have around 13 DevCerts with around 16
IMEIs. As soon as I reach the 20 limit I'll let you folks know 😉

ACS Publisher ID is valid for one year. During that time you can request as
many devcerts as you want. The number of IMEIs included in each devcert is
irrelevant and has no effect to the number of devcerts you can request.
