9500 Screen Stays Blank on Opening

1 replies · 4,736 views · Started 05 April 2006

Hi,

I have a strange problem with my 9500:

Most times that I open up the phone, the screen stays blank, just bright white as it is a fraction of a second before the graphics appear.

I have to close the phone and open it again, and mostly, the graphics then appear on the screen.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I am not sure of the age of the handset, but it is firmware 4.44(1)

Thanks for your time.

As every 9x becomes in best tradition of Nokia even more fragile, and all in service of trends and aesthetics , some things have to pay , namely what you described.

How many times (if any) your 9500 was opened?

When expediently transferred to new case, often, screen "foil" is not well suited, and considering very primitive (magnetic) fashion in which 9500 is refreshed each time you open, it can respond like this.

You should take it to the service, carefully and precisely checked for best grip. Also, insist that they place metal secure housing on the screen cable (they do that often) to additionally secure better and firmer grip, for longer lasting life.

I did, and never had problem again (9210,9500)
