Please Help - Phonebook Search Problems N70

1 replies · 2,065 views · Started 09 April 2006

Have been having the odd problem with searching through my phonebook recently. I enter my phonebook and then press the number 6 key for 'M' to go to my contacts with the name beginning in 'M' but it shows up a lot of contacts that have 'Mobile' as the second word in the name. I have cleared all my contacts and have put them back in my N70 one by one, first name as whoever i.e. Steve and then the second name as Mobile or Home but the problem is still there and a bit annoying when you want to search for a specific contact quickly. Also, when I receive a text the senders name shows back to front i.e. Steve Mobile shows as Mobile Steve.

I'm really puzzled by this, I have the first name first in the phonebook settings so can't understand it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the messening & phone book first name last name problem is a common feature of symbian os.
& the way it searches for contacts is to find all contacts that have"m" in any on the name fields(at any position)
try having just one "steve & putting both numbers under it so you have:
steve
mobile:077xxxxxx
home: 01xxxxx
