I need some help. I recently bought the 7650 and I like it. My problem is that I can't seem to download new programs. I am trying to install some small JAVA games, but it doesn't work. I get to the point where it is supposed to begin download but after approx. 20 sec. it says it cannot download the installition.
Can someone please help me? :cry:

There are many people in this forum can help you, i'm sure. But the problem is that nobody here know what is the environment and how you made your download.
I use Windows98 and IR. I think the JAD-file is downloaded but not the JAR-file.
The JAD file is a descriptor, that's supposed to tell the phone if it can run the JAR.
The 7650 doesn't need it so ditch it and just load the JAR - you might find that the program isn't compatible sometimes, but then you can just uninstall it.
I also tried with only the JAR-file, but it won't work. 😞
I get to the point where it says copying xxxx to installs.
Then after 20 sec. it says: PC-suite cannot copy xxxx.jar because of an
unexpected error.
One step at at time :P Maybe the problem is with that one application. Try a different one.
Ie, the procedure should be... Connect your phone to your computers IR port, send the .JAR file ONLY. When your phones starts beeping, open the message and accept the installation...
...is this where it halts? What error message to you get and at exactly what point? Also, what firmware version do you have? ( *#0000#)

Oh. Try transferring the file with the application that came with your IR thingy instead of using PC Suite.
If you haven't got IR or BT yet then go to

you can download many Java/SIS files from there straight to your phone, if you have any requests to add, i'm sure I could twist Rafe's arm to letting me add a few.

It stops before anything reaches the phone. I have tried to load different programs.

I can only download a very few from the wapsite. I sometimes get: "Your client is not allowed to access the requested object" or I get " WAP timeout" . This has maybe something to do with my service provider?
Update: I was wrong about nothing reaching the phone. When I go to programs on the 7650 it says I have uninstalled programs. Then I am prompted with that the file is damaged. This is the same for every one I have tried.
To synch with Outlook works fine. My firmware/software vers. is 3.16
I've had similar problems uploading files using PC Suite - so I don't use it anymore!
First restart youir phone
Then do a search for it with your Bluetooth software. when you click on your phone you should have an option to send file.... use this instead
I always send files from Windows directly and it works fine, without PC Suite or anything else. I only use PC Suite to backup the phone. Try right-clicking the file you want to send, then choose Send To then IR Recepient

how many files (jar or sis) have you really sent to the phone? it might be that the problem are corrupt files. first try a lot of apps and then if it still doesn't work - it's time to see NOKIA CARE! 😃
