Hi everyone or anyone??HELP NEEDED!!
I am wanting to back up my downloaded themes stored on my nokia n70 to pc using Nokia PCSuite 6.70.22 but cant find the stored themes on my phone. I stored them specifically on my RS-MMC and to my surprise are not there.
I used file manager to check where the image/theme files are stored and they are no where to be seen. When i try back up the mmc using PCSuite, it tells me at the end that not all data was copied.
Can anyone tell me if there is 3rd party software that can be used to completely transfer or backup everything stored on your MMC or nokia n70 without loosing data.
Please help.
Much appreciated.
Thanks
at the end of pc suites backup whatr does it say couldnt be trasnfurred??
Well, u can try to use card reader and copy whole data on MMC to PC (on windows, 'show hidden file/folders'😉.
You should be able to backup the Themes to PC with Nokia Content Copier(the backup application in Pc Suite). The themes are not usable as such in your PC then, the only thing you can do is to restore the backup file to your phone and then the themes restore to your phone.
Particularly if the themes are bought somewhere, they cannot be moved to PC as such to prevent redistribution via PCs to other phones.
This is Nokia PC Suite functionality, there may be non Nokia Pc sw's out there that do this differently.
Thanks for your help you guys😊
I seem to have resolved the problem. I was just a little sceptical to format my memory card containing my themes cos I paid money for some cool themes and was affraid to loose them.
I did the damned and performed a restore and YES to my amazement it managed to restore all my themes. A job well done... The only thing which I think is very poor of Nokia is they dont have a suitable editing tool which can be used to edit the themes to only display on the standby screen where the clock and shortcuts are displayed. You have to strain your eyes when browsing the menu screen and when trying to send a text message cos the theme background remains on the screen behind the text. I thought they would be more innovative and include some tailoring capability when editing themes so you can only see the theme background on the standby screen alone. hmmm...... 🙄
Thanks again

thats an option in nokias them studio, its the developer of the theme that ahs made the theme unusable in the menu & when reading messages.
