Hi
I am having a problem on the P900 while installing a sis file that has a
package signature, i.e a line in the .pkg file like
*private_key_file,public_key_file
The installer complains it doesn't recognize the signature, it says
Security information
Component failed security check
Cannot install
If I press the Details button, it says: certificate information could not be
understood. The deaitls of the signature look fine though.
I just renewed the ACS key for signing this file and Series 60 and Series 80
have no problem with their respective sis files with the same package
signature.
Noty having a package signature results in the sis file installing fine,
after the usual complaint about untrusted software.
Note, this isn't about the Symbian Signed certificate being on the device,
because the file sin't yet Symbian signed. For good measure I did reinstall
the Symbian signed certificate, but to no effect.
I have a number of Verisign certificates in the Certificate section of the
control panels certificate manager, including *two* Verisign IdentityBased
ACS Root for Symbian OS,
