how can i find out if there is a new operating system version available for motorola a1000? 😉 and also is there a way of downloading it via the internet on to the pc or the fone itself? i need to download a new version of the os so that my fone hangs a little less! also i cannot go to the shop n upgrade it coz they dont have the upgrades in india!

There is no new operating system versions.
There may be firmware (phone software) updates from what's on your phone now, but that'd be just fixes to problems in the previous version.
In other words, the operating system is in all firmware versions for the device Symbian OS 7.0 and UIQ 2.1, and there is no way to get the device upgraded to, e.g., Symbian OS 9.1 and UIQ 3.0.
