Wifi via Bluetooth on Symbian S60?

Saw this about nokia series60 fones. There's this software for series60 fones to access Wlan/Wifi using bluetooth, by H-Offend. Its explained that both bluetooth and Wlan operates at 2Ghz spectrum, so bluetooth can possibily acces wlan. Any ideas anyone? Or even any places/anyone which i can get such program? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Is this not just a way to use bluetooth instead of Wlan/Wi-Fi?? Now that its possible to use bluetooth up to 100metres (300feet) away it is a real alternative to Wi-Fi. Because if there is an app for the phone to use a Wi-Fi connection to connect to the internet that would mean that you could walk in any where where there was Wi-Fi in use and get internet access on your phone for free?!?!? That would be great but surely an antivirus/firewall would stop the phone from sharing access to the net? 🙄 Also is this not a security threat if people can use their phones bluetooth to access Wi-Fi they could steal details etc....? + bluetooth can be used through walls yeah? so... i could use my neighbours Wi-Fi internet connection??? hmmmmmm........

You may be right 😊 If the fone's bluetooth can access Wlan, i think its the same idea as using a laptop accessing Wlan too. Well, if you notice that every fones also have an ip address, so it should be authorise by the sercurity barrier from the server. Well, thats onli my opinion 😊. Try searching those search engines around for H-Offend. Like yahoo, there are actually such products laying around. But either its juz info onli or the link to download is a curropted file 😞

hmmmm.... i did have a look after seeing this thread and also found only info and bad links but if bluetooth and Wlan are on the same operating frequency, then if you turn of all barriers, antivirus', firewalls etc. then surely your cell would be able to pick up the Wi-Fi signal because if they are on exactly the same frequency then how could your phone distinguish between two signals (the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth)? I think this is (very) unlikely but it was only a thought. If the above was possible, then why would Nokia decide to put both Wi-Fi AND Bluetooth on their smartphones (9500, 9300, N92 etc...)??? Is there an official H-Offend website? Is their website in english? Because when searching i disregard anything that is not in english (spanish or french)??? This is interesting stuff anyhow.......

If it really works, i believe the software must hav access the symbian system files to change the bluetooth spec so as to match the Wlan wavelenght. Anyway, hope somemore ppl could provide more info over here so we could disscuss further about it. 🙄

Hmmmm... i was just thinking about this and each phone has a unique ip address, the same as a pc, yeah? Well would it then be possible to get a Wi-Fi set-up up and running at home and then from the pc for the ip address of the phone??? 🙄

I thought I was notify that there was a reply to this thread?
