This works on my 6680 - type in *#0000# This will display your OS version. If you want to update to the latest firmware for your phone then go to your nearest Nokia retailer (go to Nokia website to find the one nearest you) and they should do it for free.... If they are lookin for you to pay just say its very slow or keeps rebooting itself! Or any other suitable excuse.....

That's not actually the OS (operating system) version, but the phone software (firmware) version, date and the model name.

All firmware versions for the 6620 will be based on Symbian OS 7.0s and S60 2nd Edition Feature Pack 1 (= Series 60 version 2.1).

And all firmware versions for the 6680 will be based on Symbian OS 8.0a and S60 2nd Edition Feature Pack 2 (= Series 60 2.6).

What I don't know is if there's a firmware version newer than what you posted. You could ask your nearest Nokia service/repair center.
