the phone comes with a gps thing built in already, under tools then landmarks /position and you can set it so that you use the network based position. but there is nothing there, how do i load maps or places onto it, or do i need to install a device like tomtom?
also under contacts you just see the name, how do you set it to see the name and number?
and how do you set the phone memory to store sms etc. and not the hdd?

i have some problems with my nokia n91. I can't instal SIS files. It is not supported. Servise senter told me that i need SYMBIAN 9.1 3RD EDITION. But i can't find it. If you can help me... Give me some adress to download it to my phone. (hope it will be free)
The OS of N91 is S60v3 or Symbian OS 9.1. You must find software compatible with S60v3. Do a search on software section of this site and you find a lot of them, free and pay ones.
My N9 is asking for data to be removed before I can receive some texts messages how do I remove data and what data is it referring to? I have deleted my e-mails pictures and tunes but this is still not letting me receive these messages?
Any help advice appreciated.

1) It could be RAM is full. Try powering off the phone then on again
2) It could be ROM (phone memory is full). Could be you have old SW.

I'm buying a new phone and N91 seems like the best choice for me.... since I have no mp3 player as well.... The only reason for my choice is music.. (and of course, calling)... I'm ready to shell out the money that its priced at.... but I'm scared about the reviews floating all around that it hangs a lot..... It constantly asks you to delete data in order to receive sms mesages.... etc. etc..
But I seem to love the music features that N91 boasts... especially the sound quality and the audio jack that it supports.
I dont want to spend so much and then be disappointed.. Pls advise if its better for me to buy N91. or a low-end (no-frill) phone+an Ipod nano. It should cost the same.....

All in one piece is always better. But N91 is a bigger and heavy device. Take a look at N73Me, because is a better overall device, but with only 2gb card (replace option).

where it can read that there is a mass storage device is connected
and ask me to format it
when i do so, it says that it cannot be because it is read only
but i can access my hard disk on the phone
and it is working well

PC cannot see N91 via USB MS
connect N91
then go to Device driver on PC and right click on USB Mass storage device (the one N91 is attached)
right click and un install
then reinstall

hi, i am having trouble removing a application from my n91. i cantseem to remove it from app manager, when i try to remove it the msg is "application cannot be removed, the app is not running in the background. I also canot attach my fone in Mass Storage mode on my pc, the msg is"hard drive is beeing used by another aplication"
I'm using Nokia N91 (4gb edition). I've recently updated it to the latest firmware v2.20.008......
Since then i've started facing a problem..... If i call a no and the no is busy, the cell shows "Number busy" and then "Call disconnect."...... this "call disconnect" stays for two minutes on the screen and keeps my cell busy even for incoming calls..... if i try to call, it says "not allowed".......
why is it taking so long to disconnect an unsuccessful call????? any solution?

i hav n91 8gb, with the latest firmware ..
when i instal software into my hdd, phone memory also gets used up ..
i know that a little phone memory has to be used but more than 700kb for a single application is used up after every installation .. i've tried formatting the phone .. it said 14mb free .. after jus 3-4 apps installation it came down to 11mb only ! 😞 .. some one pls help me .. thank u
There is only 14MB memeory in C drive of N91(8GB). Most of the times iam not able to install any programmes. Can i increase the memory space of C dive?
No. Only by delete all Messages, Contacts, and other stuff... but is not the solution, ins�t it?

I have been having problems with weak signal with my N91. I live in Chicago and bought my phone from an importer. Cingular tells me that since the phone is not made for the US, it will not work properly. I was also told (by a friend) that the N91 GSM band is not made for Cingular's network and that is why I am having terrible reception.
Any thoughts?

I've got TMobile and it works fine with them. I would imagine that if it was the wrong band, it wouldn't work at all instead of just a wrong signal. You should try to find someone with a TMobile sim card and put it in your phone and see how it works.

A few days ago I dropped my N91 by accident, and now Im trying to somehow fix it. I cant get it to power on or off, it wont interact with the PC thru USB, but when I plug it in the charger, it freezes on the nokia logo and the backlight turns on, then I have to remove the battery if I want to turn it off again. A friend told me I may need to flash the firmware, how would I manually do that?; What are my options?

Hi guys. The title probably didnt tell you anything but im curious if any of u faced with this problem ever.
The problem:
My nokia n91 if i can turn it on, i cannot reset. I can type in the reset code, but the button no 4 dosent work for some reason.( i need it because my sec code is 1234)
I canniot do the hard reset because when im keeoping down the green+3+* it does nothing.
WHen i resinstalled the firmware it seemed work fine, but few minutes latter the problem came up again.
By the way i cannot use the mobile, it wants to delete random stuffs from my phone. when i push button no 1, some another number show up .
SO i think ive got some virus... Or donno.
As i told u guys i cannot reset neither hard or soft reset. i dont care my datas, just i wanna use my phoen again. If is there any method to erase ewerithing, please let me know. By the way if i plug in the usb it says u cannot use it as a storage system for some reason. So i cannot get into my phone practically at all.
