Make sure you totally drain the battery flat so there is ZERO power left and then start charging rather than charging when it still has power.I did this and took it off charge at 07.25 made 1 or 2 calls at 18.00 and now still at 23.15 I still have full power!!!
Hopefully this will continue to give the same performance!
Let me know how you get on if you have the same problem (as i used to hopefully 😊 )
I am sorry but this old trick to totally drain the battery does not make sense
on a Lithium Battery, on a NiMh battery it would make sense, but not an a
Li-Ion battery. It has nothing with the N70, or Nokia to do, it's just how
the battery technology works, draining Li-Ion batterys shall not extend
the battery usage time.
My advice regarding battery use on the N70 is to switch of 3G if you do
not use video-calling, this will give you 50% more battery time through the
work-day, at the least.
I have to recharge my battery every night, just as I had to with my Sendo X,
as with my Nokia 6600. This is a smartphone, and it uses more energy than
a regular mobile phone. The processor in the N70 is of 220Mhz,
(104 on the 6600 and 120 on the Sendo X), it goes without saying that a unit
with such computing power uses energy!
I am sure if you go ahead and buy a Nokia 6230 or a Sony Ericsson W800
you would achieve better battery usage time, but then again you could
say goodbye to the excellent functionality a smartphone such as the N70
gives you.
I am sure your use of the N70 is more extended than on your previous phones,
and also, you should check that you do not have any software running
in background consuming computing power and energy.
In my opinion the N70 gives you just about the same functionality as a
Pocket PC, e.g. like my fathers QTEK 9100 which lasts barely through the day.
So you have to look at what your needs are, if your needs are just to make
calls and look cool, buy a smaller simpler regular mobile phone, not an
advanced smartphone like the N70.
Your choice, deal with it.
