Memory card ask about Password after format

8 replies · 4,768 views · Started 21 April 2006

After I formated my 9500, memory card ask about password. I didn't put password for it

How can I solve this problem?

I once tried Remote locking feature by going to Control Panel -> Security -> Device Security - > Device Lock - > Allow remote locking. It asked me for a message that i would send from another mobile and my phone would get locked. I tested it and found that it locked my phone and created a password for my memory card. I retrieved the password file mmcstore from C:\system\ and found that the password was the first eight characters of my message that i used for remote locking. for eg. if the message was "block my phone" then the password for the memory card was "block my". While testing remote locking if the memory card had a password already then the password is not changed but if doesn't have any password the remote locking feature would create a password for the memory card.
Hope you remember the remote locking message u have ever tried and use it's first eight characters as the password.

It's my first reply and it may or may not be useful to u.

Thanks for your response

but I tried your prosedure and I can't find file mmcstore in my phone

I know the password for my remot louck

but didn't work also

Since u have formatted ur 9500 the file mmcstore is no longer available. Normally even if u set the options of Show System Directory to yes in File Manager, u can't see the file mmcstore. U have to use another software like Powerfile which make u all available drives and files and u can see the file c:\system\mmcstore. If u remember the remote locking message then u must find the password for the memory card. It is case sensitive passowrd i.e. Block, block and BLOCK are all different passwords and u should use the first 8 characters.

not sure if you have solved this yet, but my device password was defaulted to 12345 for the locks.

also 0000 for some other lock, can't remember which it was right now...

but the combo you're looking for is 5 numbers (12345)
