Battery going flat with Opera Mini.

My 9300 was rapidly going flat on me the other day for no apparent reason. I realised that I had two programs open that I don't usually have, the built in Opera that I use to read some html files and Opera Mini that I had used for driving directions and that I'd kept open to read those directions. When I closed these two programs my battery loss stopped and returned to normal. Since I have had Opera open like that before I believe it must have been Opera Mini that was causing the drain. Has anyone else had a similar experience? It makes me nervous of extended use of Opera Mini now, especially for something like driving directions that I may want to keep.

Yes, unfortunately Opera Mini does have a negative effect on the battery when left running in the background.

As do many other programs, usually games and utilities. Maybe I should make an official list of DO/DON'T apps, battery-wise?

Steve

Sounds like a great idea, Steve, but pretty time consuming, no? 😮
Maybe if other users would contribute with their experiences as well...

My list of DO apps (as in the apps that DO drain the battery dry):
-Opera Mini
-ProfiMail (but only the S60 version, no problems on Series 80)

DON'T apps:
-PowerDesk
-Mobipocket Reader

Well, those are the only ones I know for sure...
