10 replies · 4,959 views · Started 24 April 2006

I just got my N91 today and sadly its not compatible yet with iSync 2.2 (Device not supported) but sending and receiving via Bluetooth is working.

Nokia Music Manager is working great.

N91 FIRMWARE VERSION:
V.1.00.028.14
29-03-06
RM-43

Running Tiger 10.4.6

When connected as "MASS STORAGE" via USB.. evrything works perfectly.. just drag and drop anything to any folders..

Thanks for the report 😊

You might be able to create your own profile for the N91 and iSync. I can't remember the url for this, but try Googling if you're intersted.

>>>rafe

here's what i posted in discussions.apple.com

Contacts how to:

As for the contacts, here's what i did:
- Created a "Contacts' folder inside the "Others' folder of the Nokia
Hard Drive;
- Open "Address Book' (Mac) and one by one drag and drop each
contact(s) to the created 'Contacts' folder.
- After transferring all contacts, open Nokia N91 Contacts, Options,
scroll to Copy, select 'From hard drive" and everything will be copied
to Nokia's Contacts.

**Finder will experience "Application not responding" at times.. Just wait for about 5mins or more and will go back to normal.

**Never disconnect N91.

The only thing i've noticed here is that the Mobile number is changed to as "Telephone' you can manually edit it.. 😞

Easy but tidious way:
Input contact individually in N91 and after go to Contacts, Options, Mark All, Option, Copy to hard drive, Choose "Yes' to "remove exixting contacts from hard drive' so there will be no duplicates. So next time you format the phone you can easily copy your contacts.

everything is well with N91 and Mac OS X.. We are just waiting for iSync 2.2 to be updated to make synchronizing easier. also, novamedia is on the process to provide isync plugin for N91.

you said:
"You might be able to create your own profile for the N91 and iSync" (what do you mean, modifying the .plist?) there is no available work around just yet in doing this.

novamedia.de iSync plugin is way much better but again, they are still in the process of making the plugin for N91 which is a Symbian OS v9.1 (Symbian60 3rd Edition).

en.isync is only for Symbian OS v8.1a (Symbian60 2nd Edition) for now..

there is still no work around in modifying the metaclasses.plist for Symbian v9.1 S60 3rd Gen). i have 'googled' but nothing for now.

I will post if ever i see one..

Ah sounds like you are far better informed than I am - apologies for the false trail.

Use bluetooth to browse thru N91. As i mentioned in my previous post, deleting files from the phone while connected to USB may cause FINDER to stop responding, using Bluetooth on the another hand works well in deleting files from the phone. Of course, it is not advisable to transfer music files via BT since it will take sometime.

Tranferring music using BT.

Hi! I transferred music from my G5 to my N91 via Bluetooth and it didn't take long to do so. Just under a minute per song, I'm happy to report😉

transferring music files via BT (Browse device) is only good if you will only transfer about 2 to 10 songs.. you will not transfer about 4GB of Music via BT, would you?
