Change Imei On N70

I was recently daft enough to get my n70 stolen. I got it barred by my service provider but i would sleep a lot easier knowing that the thievin scum who's got it can't ever use it. I read a lot about changing IMEIs so that these phones work again and rumour has it that shops near me will actually do it. I was under the impression it is highly illegal and also impossible on N series. This just seems to open up a huge market for stolen phones?

it is illegal. & they cant change the imei on nokia phones well newer ones anyway since nokia places the imei number on once programmable memory. so it can only be programed once then becomes ROM stopping it from being changed.anyone trying to change it will have to replace that memory which i suspect will kill the phone

if there are shopssa round you doing that then i would report them to the police if my phone Had been stolen
