I was always very intrested in BlackBerry's. I always say when Nokia wouldn't be here I would have a blackberry but now that Nokia has a similar phone I want to know what of the 2 is the best. The original blackberry or the Nokia edition or what would you choose?
I also noticed there are a lot of different 8700's. In my country(Belgium) it seems the 8700v is for sale(€499 simfree).

yes your right. this is a puzle. in India also the BB 8700g is for the same price. but then again it has much less features as compared to any other BB type phone. So is it worth spending that much on it.
here in India, i have another problem, if i buy the BB8700 & then want to exchange it later for another phone, i'll be left with half the money Blackberry's) have a very bad resale price in India. (Maybe i can put it up on ebay..but nothings for sure there)
If i buy a E61 or something then if i dont like it, i can atleat break less money & buy the BB8700 then.
But i love the BB8700....its seamless email service is just waht i need and to top it off,...its perfect stable OS.
Plus i dont think the E61 has the BB client installed & its not yet released by nokia i think. No point buying a E61 without a BB client & then too my network here should support it also. But if they support N9300/N9500 & SEP910i, then i guess this will automatically work.
The E61 now supports Exchange Activesync (push email from Exchange 2003) which I'm using and find to be easily equal to Blackberry. Simply download the SIS from the nokia business site.
I have a BB 8700v too which was recently upgraded from a BB 7290 and haven't picked it up since getting the E61, imho the nokia is a much nicer device.
I bought on eBay a BB7290 for a cheap price, still have to get it. Maybe the end of this week. But I the E61 is much more all round. Now that you can have the BB tools on your E61 it is great.
The E61 is good because of the symbian OS where a lot of software is to be made for and also the mini SD card.
A pitty they both don't have a camera (or cameras)
I hope Nokia will release something like a E61i or something which has cameras
I recommend the Nokia E61, great e-mail feature, connections are awesome, software very friendly, wonderfull features; some many choices to get connected, also with the memory card... my friends its superior.
Regards
I received my BB7920 a while ago, it is really basic and strange. The OS is so different with what we use to have with a normal phone, symbian, windows, linux, ... you can't compare RIM OS with anything.
When the E61 is available for a "cheap" price I'll think I buy it as second phone.
The 8700 is fantastic (the BES version) and the Bluetooth connects to every Bluetooth car kit we have tried - unlike Nokia E's
