any *working* backup solution for 7650...?

is there any working solution for backing up the 7650...?

this crappy pc-suite backs up some stuff but forgets a lot of like operator logo, java programs,.... so basically that's not what i call backup, partial backup maybe..

i was thinking about some sort of this:
stop _all_programs,
copy the entire c drive somewhere... bluetooth/irda and ftp or something else, maybe even zip it before - of on the fly while transfering...?

yeah....
do this:

open:C/prog/nokia Pcsuite/backup exclusion:

there inside delete the file:

-C:\system\midp\

-C:\system\sounds\simple\

-C:\system\apps\phone\oplogo\

so the java/op-logo and rsc-sounds will be sinct also...

That's a clever idea Sami 😊
I will give it a try!

But I prefer not to delete those items, I'll just cut them and put in another folder just in case PC suite cry 😊

thanks for the trick!!!!

damit, the next point where nokia isn't capable of setting up software correctly!

Thanks Smi!

how about the faq - put this in there...?
another one for pc-suite & xp & fast-user switching: one should move the startup files from c:\docs...\all users\startmenu\programs\startup to the folder of the user using the pcsuite r.g.

c:\docs...\martin\startmenu\programs\startup

this saves quite some power when running on batteries on notebook, for some strange reason cursor starts to blink and some other weird things happen after a 2nd user logs in...

now the only thing _really_ missing is a way to backup the contacts.cdb file itself - without the pcsuite-backup functions... 'cause those didn't let me restore the phone after doing a format. and this is the file where the group, ringtone associations, default numbers and the thumbnails are stored... which you loose if you get your data back via sync....

That was really ingenious! Good work Sami.

PS: For those who might find it difficult to open the said file (it is a .dat), use NOTEPAD to open.
