I have had a 9300 for over a year, and am thinking about upgrading to the 9300i. Should I? It will cost me over �100 ... and I have a few questions:
Will I be able to cary the software I have purchased to the new device - or will the new UIQ cause problems?
Is battery life any better?
Is the case the same size (I have a hand's free cradle in my car)?
Are there enough new gadgets to justify the change (WiFi would be good, but what else?)

Eh? UIQ? These devices don't run UIQ!!!
Battery life is very similar. Case is identical. Unless you need Wi-Fi, don't bother though.

I don't know much about the 9300i (I own a 9300). However, a friend is using it and says it "feels" a tiny bit more responsive (he used a 9300 for over a year). But I guess that's the firmware.
Battery on the 9300i is 1100 mAh (compared to 970 mAh on the 9300). But you can buy the 9300i battery and use it with the 9300, just beware that it's still called the same; BP-6M. And that's what I'm planning to do, hoping it will give me more juice.

A lot of people say that apart from the addition of WiFi, the N9300 and the N9300i are 'the same' device. I don't think this is right, however. Apart from the striking colour changes, there is a long list of improvements from the 9300 to the 9300i. They are mostly pretty subtle, but some are not. I would compare the difference to being like the difference between Windows 2000 and Windows XP (where a huge amount of difference is in the eye-candy/cosmetic side, i.e. not functional, then there is a huge list of functional improvements, most subtle but some not). How many people eschewed upgrading to Windows XP because it is basically 'the same' OS (which it is at its core)?

I say partial because the author has omitted some pretty major differences, such as the addition of Instant Messaging software on the 9300i (which, although it does not support as many carriers as IM+, has a great many more features). But the list is useful nonetheless.
