7610 No display but phone works fine

hi folks,

need you help !

i got a nokia 7610 (2 yrs back), i had it in my rare pocket and sat on it last nite :stupid:

the funny thing is, everything seems to work all fine except the display screen looks like as if its been shut off, with some fine row lines representing the cursor bar. which is almost good for nuthing.

now my phone is no better than a radio phone 🙄

so i took it over to one of the local cell phone stores to get it checked. just by looking at it, the rocket scientist wants me to change the TFT display screen and that wud cost me $120(CAD) :con?

went to another store and the scientist there wants to do a full inspection and charge $50 as labour alone :hmmmm:

so am confused now..should i get it repaired ? or get it inspected or should i find out what excatly is wrong with my phone

the screen is intact and theres not even a single hairline crack on the screen.
when the screensaver kicks in the cursor bar would flash (as thin rows)

am managing with pc suite to read my sms and contacts 😎

so can there be something really wrong which i need to know before i take it to another scientist?
