i'm wondering if anyone every tried to increase the bluetooth speed,
somewhere in c:\system\shareddata is a ini file containing the speed for the mrouter connection / client which is set to 115200bps... i guess it should be possible to set this to some higher value like 230000bps to save some time on doing a backup / restore / sync...?

It's possible, but only if BT can actually handle that speed. It's exactly the same thing as telling Windows your maximum modem speed is 112KBsec when it's only 56KBsec... windows will think you have a faster modem, but data will only travel at the maximum speed allowed by the hardware.

didn't work for me though,

changed the speed on the phone in c:\system\data\mrouteragent.ini
and on the pc in registry: current_user/software/intuwave/mrouter...
restarted both devices, bluetooth serial connection worked, pcsuite only said phone offline... (in the status-bar)

😞

Hmmm... but bluetooth specs say something about 700 kbp/s to 1 Mbp/s isn't that right? You could make faster file transfers between PC and 7650. I will also try this sometime later...

I sometimes get 20k at the fastest, but it drops to 4k after about 5 seconds. I can't figure it out because I'm not moving the phone or doing anything on it?!
Installing a 500k file can take up to 2 minutes sometimes, and another day 15 seconds!

when using 2 notebooks with bluetooth andfile transfer native or using ip over bluetooth and filesharing i get usually 750KB/sec....
and everyone knows the speed of the phone.... so there is a configured speed set to 155200bps... the question is how to increase speed while keeping it working... read my above posts... didn't work for me so far
