I am on an O2 Online 100 contract that started in September 2004. I have not upgraded my handset (Nokia 7610) during this time but would like to upgrade to the N80. My friend works at the T-Mobile Retail Store in Harrogate and has offered me 50% discounted line rental.
What I didn't realise before talking to Cat today was that, given that I didn't upgrade my phone in Sept 05 when the 12-months had expired, I am now only on a month-to-month contract.
What she offered me was the following:
Public prices:
Flext 35 18-month contract: £180 worth of credit p/m
Unlimited internet (Web'N'Walk) for £7.50p/m with 2GB fair use allowance
My price: (£35 + £7.50) / 2 = £21.25p/m, valid for life
Give 30 days notice to O2 and obtain a PAC number
She wasn't sure of when the N80 was being released on T-Mob but I see that O2 are launching it on Monday.
Whilst an 18-month contract isn't ideal, I'm happy to go for it given that it will still be valid at that price even after she leaves. I'll phone O2 tomorrow to see if they can match it.
What do you reckon?
Thanks,
Nick
