Hello everyone,
Just in the last few days my Nokia 3230 has being playing up. I'm not sure if its a virus or if its just broken. I only got it back from warrenty about 4 weeks ago and i don't know how i'd go getting another one. I don't know anyone else who has bluetooth on there mobile and i live in a small country town so it is unlikely that someone could of given me something through bluetooth. I've ran antivirus on it and it doesn't find anything but this symptoms are pretty strange and virus like. Symptoms include; When calling people or making calls the phones backlight turns off then the screen and sound fades out over about 5 seconds. I have to turn the phone back on again. When i turn it on it says " No MMS access point definded please check settings. Sometimes it fades when my phone is only ringing. It doesnt do it when i send or recive sms's. Has anyone had this happen to them ?
Thanks for your time.
Adrian
ok, first off...
have you recently installed programs on your phone? if so, what programs are they?
are there any access points for your mms?
to check
settings ---> connection ---> access points
is this the first time that this thing happened to your phone? was your phone functional before?
what kind of antivirus have you installed? (symantec for me is the best, they have an extensive list of viruses)
also, have you tried to reformat your phone?
I have installed a few theme's found on websites like these, Also installed Smart Movie that i downloaded within a torrent and CalvinStinger Antivirus. Yes there is an access point for my mms and this is the first time its happened to my phone. I've never tried to format my phone but i would be willing to give it a go. Do you think i should try it first ? Has anyone got a link on how i may be able to format it ?
Adrian
probably, one of the programs you have installed has a virus...
before you reformat, i suggest you download a symantec anti virus (dont forget to update the virus definition)...
if this fails, reformat your phone...
press *#7370# while your phone is on, the screen should show this:
"restore all original settings? phone will restart"
press yes...
*note
i suggest that you backup everything important (pics, soundclips, etc..), all of these will be erased once you reformat your phone...
