Hi all,
I've just purchased a new 1gb memory card and would like totransfer all the data including the built in data from the nokia mini sd card to my kingston 1 GB mini SD but then i believe the files are protected in some way so that you cannot copy them. Is there anyway i couls do that as i'll like the ringtones that came with the phone but i could not transfer them. Would appreciated that anyone here could help and maybe they couldextract the data and then upload it here. In addition, i can also use the old card as a thumbdrive andformat it. Till now i still have not format it anyway.....
There are Two ways to tranfer the Data to New MMC (MMC means Mini Sd Card)
1. Put your Old(Orignal MMC) in Card Reader and Copy in a Folder to Hard Disk and then Copy to New MMC.
2. Install Pc Suit, Backup up Whole MMC with Phone Memory and Restore On to New MMC
hold on; I could be missing something but surely all the built in data (ringtones etc) are in the phone memory. I thought the supplied 128Mb card was empty.

If I was you I wouldn't use MMC, that was a totally different memory form(sort of SD without the security) in a card the same size as normal SD. You will confuse people if you use the same acronym again so soon.
I'm not aware of an industry standard acronym for mini SD but my preference would be mSD but then you get into micro SD issues(although again my pref for that would be uSD)
