Lost all texts on my 6630, please help!

Hi

Sorry to bother everyone, but I was just wondering if anyone could help me. I've had my 6630 for just over a year now (waiting for the N80 before I upgrade), and on the whole I'm pretty happy with it (although it doesn;t seem to like sending texts, well it;sll send them, but say it hasn't, but O2 will no doubt love it, as it just means my bill gets higher, he he).

Anyway, on to the problem (sorry, tendancy to waffle a bit). A few weeks ago my 6630 crashed whilst I was opening up a new text message. I restarted it, and suddenly all of my texts are gone (and there was quite a few there that I'd like to keep). Luckily I store my texts on my MMC card, so I plugged that into the computer, and they were there, and the text files had the texts, but obviously some index file or other has been corrupted, and the phone must use that rather that looking at the text files themselves (guessing here). Anyway, as the text files are there, is there anyway of regenerating whatever has been damaged that tells the phone what texts it has, and which folders they go, etc? Or failing that, a PC app that will save the texts,a nd read the files, and not refer to the index file that has been corrupted so I can at least archive them on my computer (oh, please note, I'm saying index file, but this is a guess as to what has gone wrong)?

On a related note, just wondering if anyone knew of an application that will combine all of the texts from the phone memory with the texts on the MMC card, as I;m now using the phone memory to store improtant texts, and once I get this sorted (fingers crossed), I'll need to copy the text from the memory on to the MMC card, but still keep the ones that are already on the MMC card (hope that makes sense). You'd have thought uch an app would exist, as peopel must want to combine texts from multple phones to one phone, etc at times.

Thank you for all of your help.

Alex
