N80 Video Quality

I got my nokia N80 on orange contract the other day and so far am very pleased with everything.

The only problem is that I have been finding the video quality to be very grainey and full of digital noise. even on the highest quality setting.

Is anyone else having this problem and is there anything I can do to fix it?

Thanks

Yes I have it set on mp4, in the day time, when there is light the quality is ok. But in low light it is very grainy. I didnt have this problem on my old D500.

I can't remember whetther the N80 has night mode in the video camera. If it does use this.

I think these thing some times get improved by firmware upgrades. Though there's no guarantee 😞

The video recorder in the N80 is very poor, whether you use night mode or not, especially indoors.

Shame as it really is a step backwards from the amazing video recording in my previous N70, hopefully they will fix it with a firmware upgrade soon.

I there, I'm to having the same problem as you are. I bought the N80 sim free and I have been using the video in daylight most of the time. The quality is ok in MP4. But as for night mode or low lighting. It is terrible. Grainy, noisy, scratchy and gritty. My 6680 had better video quality and that only had 3gp. Even my old mans is better quality and that is only a 6020 VGA. I payed £400 and I'm very dissapointed with the result.

I was until I read your message going to take it back to where I had bought it, as I thought it had developed a fault. But then I suppose you cant have your cake and eat it? A 3 megapixel camera so something has to go. But why the video. I thought video messaging was suposed to be the next big thing on your mobile.
