Vodafone Japan 6680 problem

Hello. First post here.
I recently bought a 6680 in Japan from Vodafone. I can't transfer any mp3s from my computer because they are "unprotected" files.. It won't even let me copy across recordings of my band which aren't copywrited or anything.

I read that vodafone have changed the phone so only mp3s downloaded from V live can be played.. Is there anything I can do to change this? Even if vodafone live had the songs I want I can't read the Japanese menu to find it.

I'd be really grateful if some kind person could help me!

Thank you in advance..

I don't know about such, but have you tried to just rename the .mp3 to something else and then rename it back when it's already on the phone? Or just convert your mp3 files to ogg and install OggPlay? Atleast you could play them back whenever you wish.
