Someone mentioned on here setting up a webserver to distribute your files (then contecting through the web viewer). I am going to try this when I back to home after the bank holiday. This is different from the uPnP facility that Home Media Server provides.

I wouldn't worry too much as the Home Media Server software is a complete pig. Why wont it work with Windows Media Connect! Arrgghh!!

I have had no problem with the Simple Center. You can also download basic UPnP applications from the Intel Website;

Look for the Intel Tools for UPnP Technologies. There is a basic media server and renderer like in Simple Center but very basic. It will require that you have .Net 1.1 installed.
