Nokia 6630 Fault

1 replies · 1,872 views · Started 29 May 2006

I recently got an unlocking code from the 3 network for my 6630. The code was accepted by the phone and I inserted my much loved o2 PAYG genie sim card. The following fault very qiuckly developed:

When you first switch on the phone and scroll down through my contact list and push the call button - no problem - call placed. When I go to text - no problem text goes. Then I return to the contacts list and try again and push the green button to call a contact - the phone acts likes its crashed. A dead call button. The only way so far I have found to get round the problem is to switch the phone off & on. But then the whole thing starts over again.

Now the o2 sim card works in other phones ok, but other o2 sim cards in the 6630 have the same problem. Yet when I replaced the 3 network sim card in the phone it works perfectly well - no fault. The 3 network say there is no problem, o2 say its not the sim card and Nokia have yet to reply to me. Can anyone help - PLEASE

Richard

*#0000# and whats your firmware version?

could be several things,

phone is registering on 3g o2 cell site and not working
3 branded firmware is causing issues with your sim
