N93 Info and Reviews

For anyone looking for some good info etc on what the N93 is capable of, the following might be of interest.

These guys must have had a pretty early firmware version though, so I'll wait for the release before taking their criticisms and benchmarks too seriously.

Also, my guess is the benchmarks on the mobile-review site above are not testing the Java 3D mobile graphics API the N93 features, or that the implementation of it on the phone doesn't utilise the 3D chipset (hard to believe). Anyone confirm?

We have already spotted that Nokia N93 is the first Nokia phone with HW accelerated 3D graphics and OpenGL ES (1.1) support.

As the real freaks we have been very curious about this new and exciting technology and after some research we have found that N93 uses PowerVR MBX 2D/3D graphics accelerator from Imagination Technology incorporated into Texas Instrument’s OMAP2420 together with the fully programmable VGP vertex processor core, FPU (floating point unit) and ARM11 processor.

Although Nokia N93 isn’t the only Symbian phone that uses this technology, it seams that Sony Ericsson P990 as well as.. ...
