Would anyone here be able to get the files from the z: drive of 6600? I'm trying to do something crazy with them and my n-gage. (Gee, i wonder what?) If anyone could get them for me, i would appreciate it very much.
6600 drive z: files
None of the executable files in the 6600 will run on an N-Gage. None of them will run even on a 6600 if you try to run them off any other drive than the Z-drive (ROM).
In any case, you can copy the files off the Z-drive of your 6600 by using, e.g., FExplorer (http://www.gosymbian.com).
I wouldn't be asking the files if i HAD a 6600, would i? 😊 I know the files won't run on n-gage, but that's what i'm trying to change.
You could wery well have had a 6600, but without the skills or tools required to get the files off it. Because you didn't say, I didn't know (mind-reading doesn't work too well over the Internet).
Anyway, ROM-based files (Z-drive) won't run from Flash (the C-drive, for example) on any device (not even the same device), because they're formatted a bit differently (as they're executed directly from ROM and not first loaded into RAM).
Furthermore, since the 6600 and N-Gage hardware is different, that's another reason you'll have trouble with the files.
What are you attempting to accomplish? Try to make the N-Gage work with S60 Themes?
For most parts you're wasting your time trying, IMO.
You might learn something trying, of course, but if you tell what you're really after, someone here might be able to enlighten you so that you can direct your energy and curiosity to something you benefit from more.
Yeah, thats exactly what i am trying to do (themes). And i know i'm probably banging my head against the wall, but it doesn't hurt to try 😊
I've done everything else there could possibly be done with my n-gage, and i'm just trying something new, so why not try this. I don't wan't people telling me "You're wasting your time, it'll never work" 'cause i'm gonna do it anyway, IF i get the 6600 files, of course.
