Nokia 3250 MP3 playback issues

I don't know if this issue has already been addressed in this forum, so my apologies if this is redundant...

Anyway, I am very happy with my Nokia 3250 (WESC Edition) and it has replaced my iPod Nano now. But yesterday I discovered a niggle which is quite irritating. Some MP3 files which play perfectly well on my PC skips and distorts on the 3250.I have yet to experience this with MP3 files which I created myself, although some MP3 files I downloaded or purchased at an online music store sound completely trashed on the Nokia 3250 (imagine a scratched CD or a worn out cassette).

Has anybody encountered the same problem? Help would be highly appreciated. Right now I have resorted to ripping my CDs to M4A format, to be on the safe side.

:icon4: I've the same problem... I don't know why, but i'll write to nokia cust serv to know the cause.

OK, write as soon as you find out the cause, as well as any possible solutions. Right now I have re-ripped my CDs to WMA format and purchase WMA tracks at the online store, since the 3250 can't seem to read ID3 tags on M4A files.

yep i hav the same teasin problem about some particular mp3s skipping on my 3250 wheras they play well on my puter..does anybody have a way out of this

Well my Nokia 3250 is long gone now, but I recently heard that this phone doesn't handle variable bitrate (VBR) files very well. It seems it doesn't have enough juice to allow bitrate transition fast enough, that is why some MP3 files sound weird sometimes.
