N80 Mp4 Format playback??

23 replies · 9,906 views · Started 02 June 2006

Okay I wanna copy a few music videos which are in avi contained divx format to my phone but i wanna convert them to mp4 format H.264
NOT THE LOWER QUALITY 3gpp2 format.

So can someone please help me with a good program and the right settings

I got Super which apparently is capable of this but i cant seem to find the right settings for it.

Thanks for all your help in advance.

"ImToo Mpeg converter"

Video Codec : Mpeg4
Video Size : 352x288
Bitrate : 512 - 1024 both give great results, but greatly change filesize.
Frame Rate : Auto
Aspect : Auto
Bitrate Tol. : 20
Same Quality : False

Audio Codec : Mpeg4aac
Bitrate : 48
Sample Rate : 48000
Channels : 2 Stereo
Disable Audio : False

I've converted hour long episodes of Top Gear, Prison Break etc... and they look amazing on the phone.... Cartoons like Simpsons, which usually pose trouble when encoding for devices, as large areas of colour tend to go blotchy... but with these settings they look DVD Quality on such a nice screen.

Thanks for the settings i try it now and let u kno how i get on

One issue might be that i have xilisoft video convertor which i kno uses same engine as imtoo but under a new branding so hopefully it wont be a problem

Again thanks and i'll try that now

Okay I tried these settings and they dont seem to work also think they are for the propereity mp4 format not the better AVC.

Any1 else? got any settings for super that work?

Thanks in advance again

I tried them too, they don't work

bizarre, maybe they only work with the original ImToo Mpeg program... they give perfect results for me!

I just had a thought though...

The realplayer built into the N80 is only capable of playing 352x288 videos. (I Believe..) and not the total 416 x 352 size of the screen.

But what about the flash player? That plays fullscreen...

If theres anybody on this forum who has the latest version of flash, and can export in flash lite, try to convert a video to .swf format??

This could possibly allow 416x352 videos to be played back...

It would be impossible, as flash lite doesn't allow high quality video.

Also, i have the ImToo MP4 converter, is that the right one?
If it's not, can you send me a link to the right one?

I cant get this to work either with ImToo Mpeg Encoder...after I transfer video to phone its says unable to play.

very odd. just double checked the settings i posted and they are the same as the ones im using now... still producing good results.

As I said I think ur using the older plain version Mp4 format, but i tried this and it dont work neither so maybe we missing something.

Any1 got any settings for Super for Mp4 AVC format.

AFAIK, the n80 doesn't support H.264... if i'm wrong correct me. I tried a file with Mp4 format in super and that worked, but H.264, no go

What firmware are you using? This could be the problem.

for some reason i don't have the "Bitrate tol" choice in the program you sent...

also, are you using the MP4 profile to encode?

Ive tried smartmovie now,

and that produces much better videos...

and its player actually lets you fastfoward/rewind....

might have to splash out the $30 for it.

Nice article about mp4 on the new s60 devices :

S60 Multimediablog

try the h.264 settings, works for me on my N80 and also the old plain h.263 tend to work ( look in the comments for the settings of H.263 )

This says it does support H.264

http://www.forum.nokia.com/audiovideo

but i havent come across any1 whose actually got it to work.

EDIT:::

That Blog is for ppl who wanna convert video from iPod format it works sometimes with other files too but with files of different video scale size it doesnt go rite.

Just convert tot 352x288 that should work. If i use " no scale " i will get errors with some videos i want to convert. The built-in realplayer app won't work with video's bigger than 352x288. I tried 480x480 and it crashed my phone and the phone rebooted.

ajck wrote:Folks,

You might want to have a look at this too, for loads of phones, including N80 and other Nokia NSeries.

Free demo available.

Nice one...works easily and really well 😊

I tried to install this but get the error:

"0005\F7\DGPDVDRipperStudio.ocx
There was a problem registering this file. The installation will be cancelled"

It continues installing but I get a similar error when launching the program. Any ideas?
