Hi,

I've got an N80 that connects to our WIFI in work fine, I can browse
internally no problem but to view the outisde world I need to browse
via a web proxy.

Is there any way to tell the browser to browse via this proxy? Or is there another browser out there I can install that supports browsing through a proxy?

Thanks,
Nick.

Just incase anyone was waiting for a reply on this one, I found the answer on the nokia website forum.... was posted by Irondog.

Hi,

you can set proxy server address at:

1. Tools - Settings - Connection - Access Points
2. select access point you wish to edit or create new
3. Once you have access point settings open select Options - Advanced Settings
4. Now scroll down and you should see Proxy serv. address and Proxy port number

SIP = Session Initiation Protocol which is used to initiate a data connection between two devices and e g VOIP and Push to Talk are using that to initiate the connection. In other words even you have SIP in your phone it doesn't mean that you have VOIP or PoC but instead it means that you might be able to install such a client to your phone (so it works as an enabler for advanced services).. Also notice that proxy settings made for SIP are not applicable for e g web browser.

hope this helps
