just rung nokia to check my n80 is getting posted today as promissed, nope its now been delayed to the 15th of june so don't expect it before the 17th, tje excuse

surely this must be crap as its been out on vodaphone and orange for a while no i'm desperate for this phone been waiting ages now, now i have to wait longer! surely i should be used to this, by the time i get this phone it'll be so old i don't want it at this rate.
so if you were told by nokia the N80 was coming out today 5th june, IT AINT back end of next week at the earliest now
thats odd i called 08702203315 this morning and its showing on there system , i have one on order and its being delivered on friday ?

I gave up trying to get an N80 on contract upgrade from O2 and bought a SIM free unit (in pearl black) instead. I've seen the release date on this phone be revised more than 8 times now by them.
I heard all sorts of dodgy excuses from "There's a fault with the phone" to "Nokia haven't released it to market yet". The most likely excuse (IMHO) that I heard was that O2 haven't paid Nokia yet...
I gave Customer retention hell and called 'em on every bullsh*t excuse they gave me; in the end they doubled my tariff and halved the cost for the next 12 months to keep me as a customer.. Of course they screwed up the discount when they applied it to my account, but that's another story lol...
My advice would be give 'em some stick and push for better terms on your contract - the staff will fold and give 'em up as they know they're looking bad..
I got mine from onestopphoneshop.co.uk a couple of weeks ago, free on a �35/m o2 tarrif. I guess if you're not fussy about getting one as an upgrade then just cancel your current o2 contract and get your PAC to move your number. I'd always go with a re-seller as you most often get a sim-free unbranded phone. Just as Nokia intended!!

i called around 10.10 this morning , spoke to 'john' there are only around 10 of them in the team so unless something changed quicky though he said he would call back if there were any problems , they said they were now on teh system and in stock tomro ? weird !
Got mine on O2 form CPW online about 17 may. Then Waited for my number to be ported form Voda......

Just tell them you'll leave and go to another provider if they don't give it to you for free, do this every year and always works a charm...
Yeah I have been with O2 since the cellenet days and have given up on them this time after being told the same crap since may 5th. "Ring back on this date etc etc." So went to orange and was given a better deal altogether and a Nokia N80. Phone back for my Pac code and 02 still wouldnt give me what I wanted. Anyhow eventually got my code and just waiting for number to transfer over. Orange C/S have been superb, makes a nice change:icon14:

i got mine from 02 on the 1st of june but i was trying for ages to get one and they kept saying that it was in stock but had not updated on the system so they would call me later and confirm the order. obviously i didnt get that call back on all the occasions.
I've been with o2 since genie launched, kept getting told different stories about the n80 and it was always promised they'd have it 'next week', never appeared, got hacked off after the different reasons, found one free from vodafone, tried to phone o2 to get my PAC, they tried all the usuals like offering me better tarrifs, "no I just want the phone", better tarrifs, but still no n80. Then when asked what features I liked about the phone "symbian, wifi capability"... sir I could recommend you a k750i !!!
I had a lot of grief to get my PAC, kept putting on hold while they try to 'find an n80', better deals etc. Had to get really shirty to make them actually do what I asked for (usually the case when dealing with their customer services in india). Eventually got it, and my handset went live from yesterday 😊 Don't regret it one bit..
just been to o2 store demanded to see manager got an answer out of him, apparently their store is getting them on thursday but they are only getting enought o fulfill their pre-orders, he told me i should recive mine of o2 online on monday latest, GOD HELP O2 IF I DON'T, The S**T REALLY WILL HIT THE FAN IF I DON'T RECIEVE IT BY MONDAY.................

Nope...nothing on the phone, wallpaper, etc to do with O2
I'm still waiting for them to get the phones too. After wanting to charge me 129.99 for the phone, I just found the Orange Canary tariff which gave the phone for free, called o2 back to cancel my contract - and wallah ! All of a sudden the phones free with 60 quid cashback. I guess it depends on how much you spend with them too. I'm not the biggest mobile user around.
Anyhow, they said this morning that the phones will be available on the 15th which is next Thursday. If they fail to make that date, I'm going to Orange. I'm sure they'll beat their deal.
It's quite funny actually, how you can bounce backwards and forwards between the companies until you basically get a deal whereby they throw in a free 90 grand mortgage 😉 (If only)
Got my N80 today from O2 Store as i'm a store customer i asked them why the phone is not available online they said the store always get the phones first then they stock the online store also my mate who is a o2 online customer rang them up yesterday and they said online wont customers wont get there phone until july
oh and my n80 from has the lastest firmware

finally got 02 to do something, rung thwm yesterday having still not had any positive news. complained like hell and as a result they are posting my n80 today wahooooooo. FINALLY
Finally (Mon 12/6/06 12 noon) O2 honoured there offer to me of the N80 for £9.99 on the online 200 as an upgrade.
should get it tomorrow.
What a hassle. Had to threaten to leave as they originally wanted £229 for the phone as an upgrade, no way!!! so £9.99 is a little better.
I have my N80 with orange after getting no where with vodafone.
My partner liked the phone and wanted to upgrade her 02 contract to the N80 as her contract was about to expire.
A couple of weeks ago she was offered the phone for 49.99 on a half price line rental agreement - double time double text for 6 months - only problem was they were not expecting any until 15th - she accepted this agreement.
After I heard people getting the N80 from O2 stores and online I suggested she ring to see when she would be getting hers.
They said that all their stock of N80s went and that stores get more. No more N80s until sometime in July and it would be 129.99. She said they were taking the michael and requested PAC code.
She phoned back and spoke to a supervisor who said there was no record of the 50 offer and said it would be 129.99 sometime in july; although, her contract was extended by 12 months on this half price offer. They wouldn't budge on this - they offered her the N91 for 199.99 or the N70 for 69.99; she eventually accepted a free 6280.
