I suppose u use Vodafone?
ANyway, you need an E-mail adress that works via POP3 (ie, that you can access via Outlook). Vodafone gives you one for free... don't know about KPN though.
You need to lookup its access info (smtp server, pop3 server, etc) and then set your mailbox according to it.
BTW, i'm from the Netherlands 8)
hmm.. vodafone is not KPN. I know that KPN uses a 3rd party for email and stuff.
It's called M-Info https://www.m-info.nl/index.html
Extra information at http://www.clubmms.nl/ for other settings...
You may wish to try www.symbian.info, they are the Benelux Symbian usegroup. You might find someone whose done it in their forums. Tell 'em we sent you 😊
I had the same problems and solved it by using my xs4all ADSL account. The usage off GPRS is free with an ADSL account, but perhaps you should check. This is the only ISP you can use in combination with KPN, according to the KPN. :-?
But the good news is it works! 😃
Make a new "access points" in "tools-> settings-> connection"
"Connection name: what ever u like"
"Data bearer: GPRS"
"Access point name: None"
"User name: user name xs4all account"
"Prompt password: no"
"Password: password xs4all account"
"Authentication: secure"
"Gateway IP address: 0.0.0.0"
hope this helps, cheers
I already asked this question before. But KPN are being bastards for not running an smtp server on their gprs network. I tried emailing them, telling them it's not possible to send and email over the smtp server of another ISP, but all the people from the helpdesk of course can't tell me anything about it. They just don't have an smtp server running, which makes it impossible to send an email with your 7650. If the 7650 had authorized smtp, there would be no problem, but since it doesn't.....
What you could do is run your own smtp server, which is impossible in my case since my smtp port is blocked by my university. But i think this should work. Make sure you don't open it up to all of the internet but just the kpn range (62.133.64.*). Ok. .hope this helps.

Robus,
Since you don't talk about GPRS, I'm thinking you don't want to use that.
But if you do, you don't have to read the rest of my message.
Anyway,
Do what I did, since I don't have GPRS because it's a company phone...
I just opened a Zonnet account, it's free.
Put this information, password and stuff into your cell phone...
Select instead of GPRS, just select: over GSM and you're all set up..
Duh ;o) you need to put more info in your phone, but this was the most important info.
If you don't email over GPRS, you don't need to know what company you're subscribed to...
Good Luck
Thanx for the replys, i've got it working with acces 4 all !
