mp3 for 9300

Unless the 9300 is massively different from the 9500, it already is. When choose the sound for the ringtone, there should be a browse option on the buttons, allowing you to choose any file that the 9300 can play. Including mp3.

tools>control panel>telephone>profile settings

edit the profile you wish to change the tone to mp3

under "ringing tone" select change, then browse. now just browse to whichever file you wish to use.

thnks for the info. But how can i set perticular ringtone for perticular contact.
i tried with the options specified in the phone for profile settings and went to that perticular contact and pressed menu-card-ringtone. but when the perticular contact is calling i hear the normal tone set for the profile.

hmm... that's odd. I have no problems getting mine to work (9300). perhaps you didn't change it from the profile's default, or it didn't take. i would try it again.

I had a similar problem with my 9300. Have you installed some software recently on your phone? Use the following steps: -

1. Check your Profile settings, Personal Tones should be kept On. (test)😮
2. Uninstall any recent programs from Application Manager. (test)😡
3. Finally if these steps don't solve the problem, do a full back up of your phone to memory card
4. Format the phone by removing battery and re-insert it back. Switch On and and press Shift+Cntrl+F on seeing the blue Nokia Logo on the PDA screen. Ensure that ur battery is charged.😉
5. Restore the phone from your memory card.

These steps solved the problem on my phone.😊
