n70 firmware

Ok, i know this has probably been asked before but...what firmware are you guys all running ?

The reason i ask is that i took my handset into my local service center and explained the problem i've been having with the video camera (it keeps dropping frames) and they said it's probably worth updating the firmware before i try using another memory card. I gave them my phone, they held onto it for about an hour after which i put my memory card in, restored the backup i had made and checked the firware version only to see:

3.0546.2.1
18-11-05
RM-84

which is what i had in the first place! does anyone know how old this version is ? didnt i read somewhere that there is a version 5 out ? should the service center not have access to that by now ? Is the fact that i restored the backup a problem ?
I've had problems with these guys before - tried charging me 20 last time i got an upgrade by telling me i had a virus which i KNOW was not true - and i get the feeling they are just messing me about 😡 anyone got any good suggestions as to why the firmware may not have changed ?

Im not sure if thats the problem or not though.

Whats confusing is that if i add data to the card via a usb reader (i've put over 800mb onto the card) there's no problem recording video at all. Its only once i install software or make a backup of the phone's memory onto it using the option on the phone that problems occur

So it's a slow card then. Once Symbian OS gets its hands on the file system, the card itself is no longer fast enough to service write requests from the camera app.

Switch to a different card (non-Kingston?) and all should be well. Hopefully! Let us know what happens!
