I should add that this will wipe your internal disk, so make sure you follow similar backup steps to my advice here:

thx alot for the link it sounds ill keep it handy for future reference.
since i had to wait till i got home to back my data up before taking it to my retailer i decided to follow the instructions in the link provided by slitchfield.
the good news I found out what the problem, there is an application called Shared on the memory card that is causing the trouble.
here are its details:
Format: Symbian OS
Name: Share
Version: 5.18.0
Type: Application
Size: 586 kB
Supplier: Unknown
Staus: Active
Memory in use: Memory Card
The Bad news is I cant Format my Memory card nor can I remove the App.
any1 got an Idea?
How do you know that it's this OS module that's the problem? Do you have a URL for details?
On my N70, with identical symptoms, upgrading to v5.06 cured the problem.
Might be worth you having a clearout of the internal system disk, too. See:

i dont know, I just find it odd that this application cannot be removed, the MMC cant be formated and this App has no certificat.
some clarifycations are needed, my previous post is misleading:
1st the picture editor problem was solved when i removed the module described in my 1st post I will post its details again:
Format: Symbian OS
Name: Photo Editor
Version: 1.4.5
Type Application
Size: 1166 kb
Supplier: Openbit Ltd
Status: Installed
Memory in use: Memory Card
it turnes out that module is for 6680 (or was it 6080) not sure.
removing let the N70 default picture editor resume normally.
the module im posting below:
Format: Symbian OS
Name: Share
Version: 5.18.0
Type: Application
Size: 586 kB
Supplier: Unknown
Staus: Active
Memory in use: Memory Card
SEEMS to be interfering with the phones normal activities.
when i was following the instructions in http://3lib.ukonline.co.uk/viruscleanup.htm and I tried to format the memory card (where that App is installed) I would get an error and the whole phone would freeze up.
I ended up removing every App One by one and untill i reached "shared where i would get an error.
thats is why I decided that this module is a probleme.
sry for any misunderstanding
hope this clears up any confusion my previous post may have generated.
Thanks. So it seems that (for example) having the 6630/6680 Photo Editor installed on card and then using this same card in the N70 is where the problem lies, perhaps not surprisingly.
I'm still interested in this SHARE module though. It's obviously auto-started by the OS, but it's not standard issue as my N70 doesn't have it. Anyone have any more clues as to how it got there? It might be worth starting the N70 in safe mode (pencil key down) and trying to remove the module then.

Not sure what that "share" module does sorry about the mistype.
But I managed to clean my Memory card, by loading it in a PC memory card reader and formatting it there.
But I am interested in finding out run your mobile in safe mode.
